  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 c. lukewarm milk, scalded and cooled
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. shortening, softened
  • 1 egg

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in warm water in large bowl.

    Stir in milk, sugar, shortening, salt, egg and 2 cups flour; beat until smooth. Mix in enough flour to make dough easy to handle.

    Knead until smooth; put in greased bowl.

    Turn greased side up, cover and let rise until doubled, about 1 1/2 hours.

    Punch dough down; roll into a rectangle.

    Spread with margarine and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.

    Roll up like a jelly roll; cut into slices.

    Let rise 40 minutes.

    Bake in a 375° oven for 25 minutes.
