Clam Chowder

Ingredients

  • 3 slices bacon
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • 1 1/2 c. half and half
  • 3 to 4 cans chopped clams (not minced)
  • 2 to 3 c. cubed potatoes (use the red-skinned guys, no peeling)

Directions

    Cut up bacon in little pieces and brown.

    Add onion, saute. Add clams, juice and all.

    Add potatoes.

    Simmer until tender, keep covered so juice doesn't all evaporate.

    When potatoes are tender, add celery soup

    and half and half.

    Simmer gently, do not boil unless you like to chew on rubber erasers.

    Season individually with fresh ground pepper.
