- 3 cans chopped clams
- 2 1/2 c. diced potatoes
- 4 slices bacon, chopped small
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 4 c. milk
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- salt and pepper
- 3 c. clam juice
Directions

1Fry bacon and onions.

2Cook until onions are soft.

3Put in large pot.

4Add potatoes and clam juice.

5Cook until potatoes are soft.

6(If juice doesn't cover potatoes, add some water.)

7When potatoes are cooked, add milk, clams and salt and pepper to taste. Cook until hot (do not boil).

8If a thicker chowder is wanted, make paste of melted butter and flour.

9Add to chowder.

10Serves 8 to 10.
