  • 3/4 c. Hershey's cocoa
  • 2/3 c. boiling water
  • 3/4 c. butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. unsifted cake flour
  • 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. buttermilk or sour milk

Directions

    Stir together cocoa and boiling water in small bowl until smooth; set aside.

    Cream butter, sugar and vanilla in large mixer bowl.

    Blend in eggs.

    Combine flour, soda and salt.

    Add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture.

    Blend in reserved cocoa mixture.
