- 1 pt. water
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. butter
- 6 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
Directions

1Bring water to a boil; add butter.

2Then stir in sugar and cornstarch, mixed smooth in a little cold water.

3Stir the sauce constantly while it cooks until clear.

4Then remove from heat and add vanilla flavoring.

5Serve hot over puddings, date and nut cake or Poor Man's Cake.
