Cloverleaf Bran Rolls

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 1/2 c. All-Bran cereal
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. lukewarm water
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3 to 4 c. flour
  • melted butter

    Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl.

    Let cool to lukewarm.

    Add remaining ingredients.

    Use enough flour to make a soft dough (sticky).

    Cover bowl and let rise until doubled in bulk.

    Punch down and shape into balls.

    Dip balls in butter and place 3 in each cup of a muffin pan that has been well greased. Let rise until doubled.

    Bake at 375° for 15 minutes.

    Makes about 16 to 18 rolls.
