- 1 stick butter or margarine, melted
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. boiling water
- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 c. cocoa
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 eggs, beaten
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Put the butter, molasses and sugar in a bowl.

3Pour in the boiling water and stir.

4Sift together the dry ingredients.

5When the mixture in the bowl is cool, add the dry ingredients, along with the eggs.

6Stir until smooth.

7Pour the batter into a greased 8 x 8-inch baking pan and bake for about 1 hour.

8Serves 6 to 8.
