- 3/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 3/4 c. Hershey cocoa
- 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/3 c. water
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Grease and flour two 8 or 9-inch cake pans.

3In large bowl cream butter and sugar.

4Add eggs and vanilla.

5Slowly combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt.

6Add water and beat until smooth.

7Bake for 30 to 40 minutes.

8Cool and frost.
