- 1 c. solid vegetable shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 c. flaked coconut
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar together.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.

3Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with buttermilk.

4Add flavoring and coconut.

5Bake in greased and floured tube pan at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes.
