- 2/3 c. shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 6 eggs
- 3 c. sifted cake flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla or coconut flavoring

1Cream the butter, shortening and sugar until fluffy.

2Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.

3Sift flour and baking powder together.

4Add flour mixture

5and milk alternately to egg mixture.

6Beat well.

7Stir in flavoring and coconut.

8Place in tube pan.

9Bake at 300° for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
