  • 2/3 c. shortening
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 c. sifted cake flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla or coconut flavoring

    Cream the butter, shortening and sugar until fluffy.

    Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.

    Sift flour and baking powder together.

    Add flour mixture

    and milk alternately to egg mixture.

    Beat well.

    Stir in flavoring and coconut.

    Place in tube pan.

    Bake at 300° for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
