Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water (120~)
  • 1 c. warm milk (120~)
  • 1/4 cube margarine
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 c. flour

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in warm water.

    In a large bowl, combine milk, margarine, salt and sugar.

    Mix thoroughly.

    Add yeast mixture, then 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 cups flour.

    Mix well until dough is firm. Grease bowl.

    Place dough in bowl and let rise to double in size in warm place out of draft.

    Make into loaves or place in one pound coffee can that has been well oiled.

    Can should only be half full.

    Let rise until dough puffs to top of can.

    Brush top with margarine.

    Bake at 375° until brown. Removes easier if allowed to cool slightly.
