- 2 sticks margarine (room temperature)
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3 c. granulated sugar
- 5 eggs (room temperature)
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. milk
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 3 tsp. lemon flavoring
Directions

1Cream butter, shortening and sugar.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.

3Add flour and milk alternately, adding baking powder with last cup of flour.

4Beat well after each addition.

5Beat in flavoring.

6Pour batter in greased and floured tube pan and place in cold oven.

7Turn oven on to 350° and bake cake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

8Check cake after 50 minutes for doneness.
