- 2 sticks butter
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 large eggs, beaten
- 3 c. cake flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. milk
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. lemon extract
Directions

1Cream butter, Crisco and sugar well.

2Continue creaming and slowly add beaten eggs.

3Sift flour.

4Add salt and baking powder. Mix well.

5Add dry ingredients alternately with milk to the creamed mixture, beginning and ending with flour.

6Add extracts and blend well.

7Pour into a well-greased and floured large tube pan.

8Place in cold oven on the lower rack.

9Turn oven on at 325°. Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes.

10Do not open oven door.
