Ingredients

  • 2 lb. hamburger
  • 1 small (No. 2) can tomato juice
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • 2 Tbsp. catsup
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 medium onions
  • 1/2 c. vinegar
  • 1 small can tomato puree
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. barbecue sauce
  • pinch of salt
  • garlic (optional)

Directions

    Fry together.

    Drain hamburger and onions.

    Mix together in a large kettle sugar, vinegar, juice, tomato puree, chili powder, pepper, catsup, sauce, Worcestershire sauce and garlic salt.

    Add hamburger and onion to this mix.

    Salt to taste.

    Simmer over low heat for 1 hour.

    Cool; run it through a meat grinder.

    One pint makes 8 or 9 Coneys.
