  • 2/3 c. margarine (1 stick plus 2 2/3 Tbsp.)
  • 1 lb. brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
  • 3/4 c. broken walnuts or pecans

Directions

    Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Set oven to 375°.

    Cream the margarine.

    Add the sugar gradually. Add one egg at a time, beating constantly. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add a little at a time.

    Beat in vanilla, chocolate and nuts. Spread evenly in pan. Bake for 45 minutes.

    Cool before cutting. Makes 24 to 30 pieces.
