- 2/3 c. margarine (1 stick plus 2 2/3 Tbsp.)
- 1 lb. brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
- 3/4 c. broken walnuts or pecans
Directions

1Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Set oven to 375°.

2Cream the margarine.

3Add the sugar gradually. Add one egg at a time, beating constantly. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add a little at a time.

4Beat in vanilla, chocolate and nuts. Spread evenly in pan. Bake for 45 minutes.

5Cool before cutting. Makes 24 to 30 pieces.
