- 2 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 3/4 c. sifted flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. nuts
- 1 pkg. chocolate chips
Directions

1Melt shortening.

2Add brown sugar and stir well.

3Cool slightly.

4Add the eggs, one at a time.

5Beat well.

6Add the dry ingredients and mix well.

7Stir in the remaining ingredients and mix well.

8Bake in a 9 x 13-inch greased pan at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.
