- 2/3 c. shortening
- 2 1/4 c. light brown sugar
- 2 3/4 c. flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 pkg. chocolate chips
Directions

1Melt shortening.

2Stir in light brown sugar.

3Cool slightly. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.

4Add eggs to cooled sugar mixture, one at a time, beating after each addition.

5Add vanilla.

6Add flour mixture to egg and sugar mixture.

7Add chopped nuts and chocolate chips.

8Blend well.

9Spread in 10 1/2 x 15 1/2 x 3/4-inch pan.

10Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
