  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lg. onion, chopped
  • 1 can (10-1/2) tomato soup
  • 2 cups water
  • 1-1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 cup whole kernel corn, drained
  • 1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 3/4 cup yellow corn meal
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. all purpose flour
  • 1-1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp. canola oil

    In a large skillet, brown beef and onion; drain well.

    Add the soup, water, 1 teaspoon salt, pepper, chili powder, corn and green pepper; mix well and simmer for 15 minutes.

    Pour into greased casserole.

    Sift the corn meal, sugar,flour, remaining salt and baking powder in a bowl.

    Add the egg, milk and oil; stir lightly.Spread by spoonfuls over beef mixture.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 18-20 minutes.
