- Crisco shortening (for frying)
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 tsp. Crisco, melted
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen whole kernel corn, thawed and chopped
- syrup
Directions

1Heat 2 to 3 inches of Crisco in deep fryer or deep saucepan. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in large bowl. Combine eggs, milk and 2 teaspoons melted shortening in medium bowl.

2Stir in corn.

3Add to flour mixture.

4Stir until moistened. Drop by tablespoon, a few at a time, in hot shortening heated to 365°.

5Fry 3 to 4 minutes or until golden brown.

6Turn as needed. Drain on paper towels.

7Serve warm with syrup.

8Makes 8 servings.
