  • 1 1/4 c. yellow cornmeal
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/4 c. buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/3 c. oil

    Combine all ingredients.

    Put generously greased corn stick pans in 475° oven and preheat for 5 minutes.

    Remove and add corn bread mixture.

    Pans will sizzle.

    Bake at 475° for 12 to 15 minutes.

    Fills two pans.
