- 3/4 c. Sugar
- 2 Eggs, beaten
- 2 c. Flour
- 1 c. Yellow Cornmeal (regular, not coarse, grind)
- 1 Tbsp. Baking Powder
- 3/4 tsp. Salt
- 1 Tbsp. melted Butter
- 1-1/2 c. Milk
Directions

1Mix the Sugar with the Eggs.

2Sift the Flour, Cornmeal, Baking Powder, and Salt together.

3Add the melted Butter and Milk.

4Stir in the Egg mixture.

5Beat quickly by hand (do not use an electric mixer, which will give the cornbread the texture of cake).

6Bake in a 9 by 11 inch buttered pan in a 350 oven for 20 - 25 minutes. Makes 21 squares.
