- 1 egg
- 1 c. buttermilk
- Hot Rise self-rising corn meal
- 2 Tbsp. grease or oil
Directions

1Put grease or oil in iron skillet.

2Heat in 450° oven until very hot.

3Meanwhile, beat egg well; stir in buttermilk.

4Just before skillet is ready, stir in enough corn meal to be medium thick.

5When skillet is hot, pour 1/2 hot oil in batter.

6Stir in well.

7Pour cornbread mixture into skillet.

8Bake until dry looking and brown (about 20 minutes).
