  • 2 c. self-rising white corn meal
  • 1/2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 3/4 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1 egg
  • 4 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 4 Tbsp. margarine, melted

Directions

    Mix corn meal and flour in large mixing bowl.

    Add sugar and egg; beat in mix.

    Pour in milk and warm water.

    Heat skillet or muffin pan slightly.

    Add cooking oil and margarine in warm skillet or muffin pan.

    Pour mixture into skillet or pan.

    Preheat oven to 425°.

    Cook cornbread in skillet for 20 to 25 minutes or muffins 15 to 20 minutes.
