  • 4 c. dry bread crumbs
  • 4 c. crumbled cornbread
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 1/2 c. chopped onions
  • 3 c. hot chicken or turkey broth
  • 1/3 c. melted butter or margarine
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. sage
  • salt and pepper

    Combine bread crumbs, cornbread, onion, celery and seasonings in a large bowl. Mix well. Blend in broth and milk. Mixture should be very soft to allow for loss of moisture during baking. Add more broth if necessary. Cover and chill 8 hours. Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 35 to 40 minutes or golden brown.
