- 3 c. water
- 1 c. cornmeal
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. cold water
Directions

1Heat to boiling 3 cups water in saucepan.

2(I use a small iron kettle.)

3Mix cornmeal, salt and 1 cup cold water.

4Pour into boiling water, stirring constantly.

5Cook until thickened, stirring frequently; cover.

6Continue cooking over low heat 10 minutes or longer.

7To make fried mush, pour cooked cornmeal into loaf pan and cool. When cold, cut into 1/2 inch slices.

8Pan fry slowly on lightly greased griddle or skillet until golden brown. Serve hot with syrup or honey.
