- 5 c. water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. cornmeal
- 1 c. cold water
Directions

1Bring water to a boil in top of double boiler.

2Add salt; stir in cornmeal mixed well with cold water.

3Cook; stir constantly until mixture is thick.

4Place over boiling water.

5Cover; cook for 30 minutes.

6Stir occasionally.

7Pour into loaf pan to cool; slice for fried mush.

8Can be used as a cereal.

9While still warm, slice thin; fry slices in oil or lard.

10When brown, put them on plate and serve with butter and syrup.
