- 1 pkg. (1 Tbsp.) dry yeast
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. cornmeal
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 3/4 c. milk
- 3/4 c. cream-style corn
- 2 lightly beaten eggs
- 6 c. flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast, sugar and warm water.

2In a heavy saucepan, combine cornmeal, sugar, shortening, salt and milk.

3Cook until thickened, stirring often.

4Cool until lukewarm.

5In a large bowl, combine corn and eggs.

6Stir in yeast mixture and cooled cornmeal mixture.

7Mix thoroughly; then stir in 5 cups flour.
