Ingredients
- 1 medium onion, sliced thin
- 1/2 medium green pepper, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 head cabbage, shredded
- 3 medium carrots, cut in round slices
- 1 lb. sausage
- 1 c. long grain rice
- 2 1/2 c. water
- salt and pepper to taste
- sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
Directions

1Prepare vegetables.

2Combine into one pot.

3Put 1/2 cup water into vegetables; cook vegetables until they boil.

4Let boil for 10 minutes.

5Cover and remove from heat.

6Fry sausage until brown (scrambled); drain off grease.

7Put sausage aside.

8Put 1 tablespoon oil in same pan; heat oil.

9Empty rice into hot oil. Lightly brown slowly.

10Empty 2 cups water into rice; simmer slowly until done.
