Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine, melted (works well with 1/4 c. butter instead to cut fat grams)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 3 c. fruit/berries (cherries, apples, peaches, blueberries, etc.)

Directions

    Combine butter, sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and milk. Blend by hand and pour into an 8 x 8 x 2 or 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Combine 1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar with fruit (unless fruit was frozen with a sugar syrup).

    Pour over batter. Bake at 375° for 30 to 40 minutes.
