- 1/2 c. butter or margarine, melted (works well with 1/4 c. butter instead to cut fat grams)
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. milk
- 3 c. fruit/berries (cherries, apples, peaches, blueberries, etc.)
Directions

1Combine butter, sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and milk. Blend by hand and pour into an 8 x 8 x 2 or 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Combine 1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar with fruit (unless fruit was frozen with a sugar syrup).

2Pour over batter. Bake at 375° for 30 to 40 minutes.
