- 3 lb. boneless round steak, 1 1/2 to 1 3/4-inches thick
- 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 c. chopped celery
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 2 c. beef broth
- 1/2 c. catsup
Directions

1Trim excess fat from steak.

2Sprinkle flour evenly on both sides of meat and pound with mallet.

3Melt shortening in large Dutch oven.

4Brown steak on both sides.

5Combine remaining ingredients, stirring well, then pour over steak.

6Cover and bake at 350° for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until tender, adding more water if needed.
