  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • butter
  • 1 Tbsp. mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 16 oz. backfin crab meat
  • bread crumbs
  • salt and pepper

Directions

    In a small saucepan, melt butter and stir in flour.

    Add milk, salt and pepper; simmer over medium-low heat until thickened. Cool.

    Mix with crab.

    Add mayonnaise, Worcestershire and lemon juice.

    Mix well and spoon into casserole dish.

    Top with buttered bread crumbs.

    Bake at 350° until top browns and casserole is hot.
