  • 2 c. raw rice
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 2 cans consomme or beef broth
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 can mushrooms, drained (optional)

Directions

    Melt butter in 2-quart casserole.

    Stir in rice, onion and oregano.

    Add consomme, mushrooms and water.

    Cover with foil. Cook at 350° for 1 hour.

    Serves 8 to 10; may cut recipe in half.
