Ingredients

  • 8 slices bread, cubed
  • 2 c. crab or tuna (12 oz. can)
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1/2 c. mayonnaise
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 3 c. milk
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • grated Swiss cheese (to cover the top)

Directions

    Cook celery slowly in water 10 minutes and drain.

    Spread one-half bread cubes in buttered 9 x 13-inch casserole.

    Spread crab, onion, mayonnaise, pepper and celery over bread.

    Put the other half of bread on top.

    Pour eggs and milk over all. Refrigerate overnight.

    Bake at 325° for 15 minutes.

    Take out of oven and spread soup over top.

    Add cheese and paprika.

    Bake uncovered 1 hour.
