  • 1/3 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. melted shortening
  • 1 c. cracklings

    Add eggs, buttermilk and milk; stir well.

    Pour batter into a hot, greased 9-inch cast-iron skillet.
