- 1/3 c. self-rising flour
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/3 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. melted shortening
- 1 c. cracklings
Directions

1Combine dry ingredients.

2Add eggs, buttermilk and milk; stir well.

3Add shortening and cracklings.

4Stir well.

5Pour batter into a hot, greased 9-inch cast-iron skillet.

6Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes or until golden brown.
