  • 2 c. corn meal
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. cracklins

Directions

    Sift meal, baking powder and salt together.

    Pour enough hot water to make a stiff dough.

    Add cracklins (boil cracklins to soften them, optional).

    Mold into oval shapes (pones) and bake at 425° until brown.
