- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 2 c. cake flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. whipping cream
- 1 tsp. lemon extract
- halved or quartered glazed cherries (for garnish)
Directions

1Cream the butter and sugar until blended.

2Mix the flour with the baking powder.

3Add to the butter mixture with the cream and lemon extract.

4Mix until a stiff dough forms.

5Chill for 30 minutes if necessary.

6Using 1 teaspoonful of dough at a time, roll into small balls.

7Place on lightly greased baking sheets. Press a halved cherry into each cookie.

8Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes or until very lightly golden and set.

9Cool and store in an airtight container or freeze for longer use.
