Cream Puff Dessert

Ingredients

  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1 c. flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese (softened at room temperature)
  • 3 (3.5 oz. each) pkg. vanilla flavor instant pudding mix
  • 1 (12 oz.) carton frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • shaved chocolate, chocolate syrup or garnish of your choice (optional)

Directions

    Preheat oven to 400°.

    Grease a 10 1/2 x 15-inch baking pan (jelly roll type with sides; I used a 9 x 13-inch pan).

    In a saucepan over high heat, bring water and margarine to a boil. Reduce heat.

    Stir in flour until mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat.

    By hand, beat in eggs, one at a time. Beat well after each addition until mixture is smooth. Spread mixture evenly over bottom of prepared pan.

    Bake for 25 minutes.

    (Surface of pastry will be uneven.) Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
