  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. boiling water or milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. salt

Directions

    Add shortening to water; bring to a boil.

    Add flour all at once and stir vigorously until ball forms in center of pan.

    Cool slightly.

    Add unbeaten eggs one at a time, beating after each egg.

    Mixture should be very stiff.

    Drop on cookie sheet (greased) from spoon.

    Bake at 450° for 15 minutes, then at 350° for 30 minutes.

    Makes 2 dozen small puffs.
