Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 c. flour

Directions

    Bring butter, water and salt to a boil until butter is melted. Put on low heat, add the flour, stir constantly.

    When the mixture falls away from the sides of the pan, turn off heat.

    Add 1 egg at a time and beat very, very well.

    Drop one tablespoon of the mixture at a time on a greased baking sheet, leave plenty of room between each spoonful for the mixture to expand.

    Bake at 400° for approximately 40 minutes, take out of oven and slice the top of each puff, return to the oven for approximately 5 minutes.

    Makes approximately 12 large cream puffs.
