  • 1 c. sugar
  • 4 egg whites, beaten
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch, fill cup with flour
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice or flavoring

    Beat egg yolks until very light and creamy.

    Add cold water and sugar.

    Add flour and cornstarch, sift together.

    Whip the whites of eggs stiff; fold in.

    Bake in 9-inch tube pan in 350° oven for 35 minutes.
