Ingredients
- 1 cup yellow lentils or red
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 3 cups water
- 1 onions very finely chopped
- 4 tablespoons ghee
- 1 teaspoon garlic mashed
- 1 teaspoon ginger grated
- 1 tomatoes larpe very ripe, seeded and chopped
- 2 teaspoons garam masala
- 2 tablespoons cream
- 2 tablespoons mint chopped coriander
Directions

1Cook the lentils with salt turmeric chilli and the water for about 20 minutes or until very soft. Drain off excess water.

2Cook the onion in ghee to a golden brown.

3Set aside 1 tablespoon for garnish.

4Add the garlic and ginger and cook briefly then add the tomato and cook to soften.

5Stir into the lentils adding the garam masala and cream and half the chopped herbs.

6Stir well and heat through.

7Pour into a serving dish and garnish with the remaining herbs and reserved fried onion.
