  • 1 gal. plus 1 c. whole milk
  • 16 oz. box Carolina long grain rice
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 doz. egg yolks (extra large)
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 4 tsp. vanilla
  • cinnamon

Directions

    Heat 1 gallon of milk in a large pot, uncovered, on medium heat.

    When milk is very hot, add sugar.

    Dissolve and stir with a wooden spoon.

    Add salt and stir.

    When milk comes to a full, foaming boil, add rice, lower heat a little, cover and stir every few minutes.
