  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 qt. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 10 c. stale French bread, cut into 1-inch cubes (about 12 oz.)
  • 1 1/2 c. raisins

    Beat eggs until frothy.

    Beat in sugar.

    Add milk, vanilla and nutmeg.

    Mix thoroughly.

    Add bread and raisins and let set 15 minutes before pouring into 9 x 13-inch pan or a 4-quart baking dish.

    Bake 45 minutes at 350°.
