  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 c. sugar coated puffed wheat
  • 1 pkg. chocolate chips (6 oz.)
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Beat the egg whites until foamy; sprinkle in salt and cream of tartar.

    Continue beating until shiny and stiff.

    Beat in sugar 2 tablespoons at a time.

    Stir in chocolate chips and puffed wheat. Stir in vanilla.

    Drop in heaping teaspoonfuls on a cookie sheet covered with heavy brown paper.

    Bake in a slow oven (300°) for 25 minutes.

    Remove from paper while warm.

    Cool before storing.
