Crispy Old Fashioned Donuts

  • 170 grams Cake flour
  • 130 grams Bread (strong) flour
  • 40 grams Unsalted butter
  • 100 grams Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 dash Vanilla extract

    Soften the butter to room temperature.

    Mix the sugar, eggs, and butter in a bowl.

    Sift the dry ingredients into the bowl.

    Add the vanilla essence.

    Mix the ingredients together using a rubber spatula.

    Once mixed, let sit for 10 minutes so that there are no flour streaks.

    Dust the surface of the dough and roll it out to about 1cm thick.

    Cut out the donuts with a cutter.

    Using a skewer or toothpick, draw a line around the middle of the donuts.

    Fry in oil heated to 170 -180C until they have a light brown color.

    Once the donuts have cooled, decorate as you like with chocolate to make them look even yummier.
