- 1 loaf French bread or 1 loaf sourdough bread
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper (fine)
- 2 garlic cloves (fresh crushed)
Directions

1Preheat oven to broil.

2Cut bread horizontally into two long equal pieces.

3Place room temperature butter and mayonnaise in a medium bowl.

4Using the palms of your hands like a mortar and pestle, crush the dried herbs (parsley, oregano and basil) as you add them to the bowl.

5Add salt, fresh ground pepper and crushed garlic to the bowl.

6Mix all ingredients thoroughly.

7Spread the mixture evenly across the two loaf pieces.

8Place bread under broil for 5 minutes, or until lightly toasted.

9Cut into serving size pieces and enjoy.
