Ingredients

  • 4 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 c. soft butter
  • 2 c. light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 c. raw, quick cooking oats
  • 2 (3 1/2 oz.) cans flaked coconut
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Sift flour and soda together.

    Set aside.

    In large bowl, cream butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy. Mix in flour mixture until well combined.

    Stir in oats and coconut to make a stiff dough.

    Preheat oven to 375°.

    Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheets.

    Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.

    Makes about 10 dozen.
