  • 2 oz. margarine
  • 3 oz. caster sugar
  • few drops vanilla essence
  • 1 tsp. golden syrup
  • 2 oz. shortening
  • 3 oz. oats
  • 4 oz. Bisquick or all purpose flour
  • 3 tsp. hot water

Directions

    Cream fats and sugar together; add the other wet ingredients and mix with the other dry ingredients (quite a stiff mix).

    Roll into small balls and space them out on a greased baking tray. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 350° or on gas mark 4.
