- 2 c. flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 2/3 c. currants
- 5.33 oz. can evaporated milk
- 1 egg
- sugar
Directions

1Heat oven to 400°.

2In medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

3Blend well.

4Using pastry blender or fork, cut in butter or margarine until mixture is crumbly.

5Stir in currants.

6Combine evaporated milk and egg; add all at once, stirring just until moistened.

7On well-floured surface, knead dough gently, 5 or 6 times.

8Press into an 8-inch circle about one inch thick; place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Cut into 8 wedges; do not separate.

9Sprinkle with sugar.

10Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.

11Serve warm.
