- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 4 egg yolks
- 3 cups milk or half-n-half
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 2 tsp vanilla
Directions

1Combine sugar and cornstarch in large saucepan over medium heat.

2Gradually whisk in egg yolks and milk.

3Cool mixture, whisking often, 12 minutes or until thickened.

4Bring to boil and cook, stirring constantly for 1 minute.

5Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla.

6Cover and chill 6 hours.
